2. High school Sunday night GSM is at the Blackwells’ house at 6-8 pm!! We’ll enjoy the bonfire, frisbee, corn hole, basketball, and more… and air conditioning

SPREAD THE WORD!!
Celebrate your independence by freeing yourself as youplay the most epic game of kickball you’ve ever experienced. On Wednesday night, July 4th we’ll be slipping, sliding and kicking a ball all evening long with the Operation Barnabas team on the south fields at the Worship Center. Bring your friends, bring your neighbors, bring that random person you passed on the way to play kickball, but don’t bring your cat.
See you there…it’ll be wet, for sure.
This Wednesday middle school and high school events will be separated by gender. A Girls/Guys Night Out if you will. Guys will meet in the gym for games and a panel and girls will meet in the band room for a night of beauty and fun.
*NOTE TO ALL GIRLS – It would be helpful to us if you were able to bring a washcloth!
To qualify as a contestant in the Music Video Film Festival you must follow these guidelines:
- All videos must be approved by interns beforehand.
-Your video must be turned in to interns via dropbox, youtube or flash drive by Monday, July 9th.
-Keep in mind you are representing the church when you’re out in public.
-Dream big.
Winners will receive a night of dinner and a movie with the interns and will have their video showcased at Momentum.

Urban Hope Trip – Philadelphia, PA – June 10-16
This is an incredible opportunity to get away, experience ministry and missions and daily connect in a deeper way with God. Some experiences from the past include: homeless ministry, observing the brokenness of the inner city, interacting with other high school students from UH, manual labor work projects, sharing and verbalizing your faith, and much more. The cost for last year’s trip was $200.00, it’ll be close to that again this year.
Momentum Youth Conference – Eastern Kentucky University – July 17-22
If you are currently in 8th grade – 12th grade, we want you to join us for Momentum this year. The theme is “UnSeen” and will focus our attention and our eyes toward those people in our lives who are overlooked, pushed to the sides or forgotten. The week will be filled with incredible speakers including Francis Chan and incredible worship led by Aaron Keyes all week. We’ll also have opportunities to serve the local communities surrounding Richmond, KY. The cost for registration is $389.00 and includes all sessions, lodging and 10 meals (lunch and dinner). Registration should be open in the next couple weeks.

Philippines Missions Trip – Boracay Island, PI – August 1-17
Many more details to come with this opportunity…the dates, cost and details are all still very fluid, though the trip will be right about 14 days during the first half of August. The goal is to take a team of at least 10 (the more the merrier) high school students and recent grads (and even some parents, if interested). While in the Philippines we will serve daily at local feeding sites for under and mal-nourished children, feeding them and caring for needs while givinng them the gospel. We will have opportunities to interact in local public schools, help build a ministry center and much more. The hope is that we can keep the cost for the trip under $3,000.00. Operation Barnabas – July 3-4 // and all summer
We will have an opportunity to host an Operation Barnabas team on Tuesday and Wednesday (July 3-4) to serve alongside our students and encourage our church family. We’ll need host homes for a couple nights and have ways for the team to interact with our teens here at Grace.
We also have 4 students that we are sending to be a part of OB teams this summer. They are currently raising support but would welcome your prayers and any additional financial support you could offer. Gifts can be sent to the church office to my attention (Dave Nicodemus) with Operation Barnabas in the memo. The students we are excited to send on OB this summer are: Marcelo Villalobos, Robb Fisher, Alec McLean and Meaghan Vaders.
Sunday Nights This Summer
When we don’t have a trip planned we will gather in homes for an evening (6-8pm) of having fun together, eating and a short Bible study / prayer time. The goal will be that these times are highly relational and focus on building quality connections with each other and deepening our walks with Jesus. The tentative dates for these nights will be: June 17, 24; July 1, 8, 15, 29
If you have interest in hosting one of these nights (expect an invasion of 40+ high schoolers) let me know and we can talk through details and pick a date that works best for you.
Wednesday Nights This Summer
Not a lot of details for Wednesdays yet, but if the past couple years are any indication we’ll have plenty of crazy fun things going on, from cookouts to slipnslide kickball to cardboard boat races…you won’t be disappointed.
Summer Interns
We will once again have some amazing summer interns to partner with GSM. They have not all been officially hired yet, but when they are and we have more details, I’ll pass on that info to you so you can begin “getting to know” them.
That’s all. I’m very excited for what God has in store for us this summer. So many opportunities to have a great time together, to connect others who have not been connected and to deepen our faith like never before. Begin praying now, for how God will want to involve you in His story this summer.

Come on out on Wednesday night (July 6th) and celebrate Independence Day…2 days late. Hey, better late than never, huh? We’ll be having a cookout, playing volleyball and playing with some very cheap, low-grade fireworks (AKA Sparklers).
